Two courses down

one to go.
Course one was the first English asparagus of the year:
served with salt and pepper, butter and lemon juice. Perfect.

Main course was mackerel with cumin and lemon from the Kitchen Diaries. I should have taken the head off the fish, though. It kept looking at me from the grill tray, until its eyeball fell out. Tasted ok though.
Course 3 is the rhubarb I didn't get round to eating yesterday, stewed with freshly squeezed blood orange juice and crystallised ginger, with some Ben & Jerry's Fairly Nuts ice cream. The whole lot's accompanied by some Austrian white wine. And yes, I am being greedy, but I ran half as far as thousands of other people this morning, so I can. Ner.
